The Emperor's cook has a son that appeared in "What's Cooking?" in Ming Tsai's imaginary telling of the legend of the potsticker. He delivered his father's overcooked dumplings to the Emperor telling him that it was a new recipe. The emperor loved the potstickers and wanted all his dumplings cooked that way from now on.
A similar, though older looking character appears in "Kung Fool" as a Kung Fu student in the movie Master Wu and the Rebel Monks.
